2 Chronicles 16:9 “ For the eyes of the LORD run toand fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf ofthem whose heart is perfect toward him.”
God is looking for someone that has their heart right thattruly loves the Lord. There is a lot ofpeople out there that can talk the talk but their heart is not right. You have to be willing to make sacrifices.
I.ATTITUDES OF THE HEART:
A.WHY GOD CHOSE:Abraham - Genesis 18:19, Nehemiah 9:7,8
“For I know him, that he will command his children and hishousehold after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice andjudgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken ofhim.”
“Thou art the LORD the God, who didstchoose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavesthim the name of Abraham; 8And foundest his heart faithful beforethee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, theHittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and theGirgashites, to give it, I say, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; forthou art righteous:”
Moses – Numbers 12:7
“My servant Moses is not so, who isfaithful in all mine house.”
Ezra – Ezra 7:10
“For Ezra had prepared hisheart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israelstatutes and judgments.”
Paul – I Timothy1:12
“And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into theministry;”
Timothy – 1 Corinthians 4:17
“For this cause have I sent unto youTimotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring youinto remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in everychurch.”
WhatGod was looking for is someone that is faithful to Him (God). To be faithful you have to be in love withthat person. If you love God you willbe faithful to Him.
B.GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART:
1Samuel 16:7 – “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on hiscountenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for manlooketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Nehemiah9:7,8 – “Thou art the LORD theGod, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of theChaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham; 8And foundest hisheart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land ofthe Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and theJebusites, and the Girgashites, to give it, Isay, to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous:
Sooften man looks at the outside trying to size up the righteousness ofpeople. We tend to place a lot on theway people dress, the way they talk, and the way they carry themselves. But God looks on the inside how you act whenyou are by yourself and how you express yourself when alone. Make no mistake God looks at our hearts todetermine our faithfulness to Him.
C.GOD IS LOOKING FORFAITHFUL STEWARDS:
·He puts everything he owns in thehands of others.
Steward, One who manages another's property, finances, orother affairs.
·Among stewards, it is required tobe found faithful.1 Corinthians 4:2,“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be foundfaithful”
·Faithfulness empowers us to endurehardship and afflictions as discipline.Hebrews 12:4-8,“4Ye have not yetresisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5And ye have forgottenthe exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise notthou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6Forwhom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7Ifye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is hewhom the father chasteneth not? 8But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.”
·Overcoming hardship byfaithfulness will bring you to glory and eternal life.1John 2:24,25; Revelation 17:14,
“Let that therefore abide inyou, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard fromthe beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and inthe Father. 25And this is the promise that he hath promised us, eveneternal life.
Being a Christian is not a cakewalk. We are going to suffer hardships along theway. But faithfulness with perseverancewill be rewarded with eternal life with Christ. So this is a small price to pay for what the end holds forus.
D.Ezekiel 22:30 – “And I sought for a manamong them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me forthe land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”
When God looks at you does he see a Man of God?Or does He see someone that is playingchurch? We need to get serious withourselves so God can see we mean business with Him.I do not want God to overlook me or pass me by because I am toweak to stand up for God and do what is right.
E.We must have the rightgoal in life:
·Christmust be our goal.Philippians 1:21, 3:8, 3:10
·Christmust be our life.Acts 17:28, Luke 9:24,John
1:4, Gal 2:20
·Christmust be our mind.Philippians 2:5
·Christmust be our strength.Philippians 4:13
·Christmust be our supply.Philippians 4:19
·Christmust be our peace.Philippians 4:6,7
YOU SET YOUR OWN HEART:
Colossians 3:2 – “Setyour affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
THE CHARACTER OF GOD IS THE GOAL.
MyGoal:Your Fulfillment –Definition:To put into effect, measureup to, convert into reality and develop the full potential of.
Ephesians 4:16: –“From whom thewhole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every jointsupplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 2:21,22: - “In whom all the buildingfitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22Inwhom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.”
Godwants his temple to be holy and undefiled. That is our responsibility to God and to ourselves.IF we want to be a spokesperson for God weneed to act so God can determine that we are sincere and want to be God’s Man.
